Mr Cenz a.k.a Julian Phethean has been scribbling on surfaces since 1988 when he first discovered hip-hop culture and graffiti art. He soon became obsessed with this new and exciting art form and after a few brushes with the law he decided to find ways of developing his skills legally. Since his first commissioned mural at 11yrs old he has continued progressing with his graffiti art and experimenting with other mediums such as painting and printmaking. This has lead to a career as a professional artist and several solo shows throughout London.

His work is still very influenced by his ‘old school’ roots but is very ‘new school’ in its abstract and graphic nature. Over the years he has developed his own unique style, which focuses on symmetry, colour, form and tight line work. He works hard to make sure each piece he creates is very individual in its letterforms and characters. He is also a very versatile artist who is competent in painting all graffiti styles from realism to wildstlye.
